Post Graduate Diploma in Operation Management

Overview

In order to thrive in today's competitive world, there is a requirement of high caliber operational managers who have an in depth knowledge and skills in Operations and Supply Chain Management to deliver first time right at low cost and on time. The programme aims to develop change agents having competencies and mind set to create a culture of Lean and operational excellence at their workplace.
The program will enable individuals to significantly improve their Operations Management (OM) skills.

Objectives

The program aims to achieve these broad objectives:

  • Create awareness of Operations Management as an approach to business management and explain key elements of Operations Management
  • Build skills on advanced OM concepts, tools and techniques
  • Create awareness on role of Operation managers in effective cross functional management for major business processes, through case studies and best practice sharing
Course Contents

Course Structure

The program is divided into three phases for effective learning of the participants. This gives them sufficient time to understand the unique challenges of Implementation of the concepts at work place and develop solutions which benefits the organization as well as the participant. Guidance and coaching is provided at individual level across all phases.

Contents:

The program is divided into three phases with the following broad contents:
Phase I: Introduction to Operations Management, Basics of Operations Management, Basics of Quality Management Tools, Operations Strategy Formation and Deployment, Introduction to Lean Operations, Introduction to SCM, Introduction to Project Management, Case Study on Operations Management, Industrial Visit
Phase II: Employee involvement and Development, Operations managers role in Industrial Relations, Inventorying and warehousing, Supply chain integration, Lean Management, Productivity Management, Cost Management, Case study 2 on Operations Management
Phase III: Profitability Management, Production & Inventory Management
Advanced lean Operations, Demand/Production Planning, Green Operations, Logistics & SCM best practices, Innovation

Post Program Application:

Post-training participants are expected to implement their learning at workplace by undertaking two Projects and the same will be supported by MIQ.

    High performing, high potential Engineers with 5 to 15 years of work experience in Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Plant Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Management & Support functions
