Post Graduate Diploma in Quality Management

Overview

PGDQM is an advanced learning program, designed to meet the needs of a customer-centric organization with high caliber managers. These managers should have a deep understanding of Quality Management (QM) to absorb the knowledge imparted during the course. This will empower them to apply quality tools and spread this knowledge within the organization.

Objectives
  • Impart thorough knowledge and application training on advanced QM Concepts, Tools and Techniques.
  • Create awareness of using comprehensive QM for Effective Management of Major Business Processes.
  • Holistic development to develop an attitude of excellence.
Course Contents

The program is conducted in three phases:

Phase I: Introduction to Quality, Introduction to Total Quality Management (TQM), TQM Principles, Top Management Leadership & Strategy, Daily Work Management & Standardization , Basic 7 Quality Control Tools & Quality Control Story approach of problem solving, Measurement System Analysis, PFD, PFMEA and Control Plan, Work Station Standardization, Statistical Process Control, Process Capability, Lean tools, Achieving Personal Excellence, Project Studies, TQM journey of Indian companies and industrial tools.

Phase II: Six Sigma Green Belt (DMAIC), Design of Experiments, Shainin Tools, Task Achieving Quality Control Story and New QC tools, Employee Involvement Tools, Human error prevention principles and application, Change management, Total Productive Maintenance Project Studies, Presentation, and Communication Effectiveness.

Phase III: Innovation through TRIZ, TQM Application in Supply Chain Management, Sales, Finance, New Product Development, Reliability, Enabling and Implementation Skills, TQM counseling skills, Project Studies and TQM journey of Indian companies.

Post-Program Assignment

Participants are assigned two improvement projects (Quality Control Story and Six Sigma) and two Kaizen project at their work place as a part of the curriculum. Post-program support will be provided by MIQ to assist participants in applying their learning.

  • Eligibility

    High performing, high potential Engineers with 5 to 15 years of work experience in Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, New Product Development, Materials Management & support functions.

  • Duration
    Total of 7 weeks spread over a year & divided in three phases.
